MIAMI BASS - INICIO & ARTISTAS

Miami Bass
No início dos anos 80 a Disco estava se fragmentando em vários gêneros músicais. A indústria fonográfica de Miami procurou novos hits para refazer aquele mesmo sucesso dos anos 70. Dessa idéia surgiu o Miami Bass. O nascimento do electro em Miami.
Também conhecido como Bass Music, Booty Rap, Miami Batidão ou Car Audio Bass, este tipo de rap surgiu na Flórida e é normalmente seguido por DJs de guetos das cidades de Miami e Atlanta. O Miami Bass mistura o funk de George Clinton, o techno-pop e temas robóticos do Kraftwerk e muita cultura de Hip-Hop. No começo de tudo surgiram na Flórida produtores como Pretty Tony, DXJ, Larry Dermer, Dwayne Omar, entre outros, que seguiram o movimento do electro. Foi esse movimento que deu uma cara para o Miami bass.O produtor de electro Clarence Reid, conhecido como Blowfly, passou a usar temas erotizados nas letras e poucos anos depois serviu de inspiração para o 2 Live Crew.Em 1982 Tyrone Brunson lançou "The Smurf" que não fez tanto sucesso, mas em 1985, Dougie E. Fresh lançou "The Show" que foi tema de Inspetor Bugiganga. Com isso, entre 1985 a 1988, os raps da Flórida eram baseados em temas de desenhos animados ou programas bregas da TV americana. Billy Hines era dono da Royal Sounds, uma loja de discos na Flórida, e seu filho Adrian era um DJ. Billy montou uma gravadora de electro chamada 4-Sight Records. Quando fez 16 anos, Adrian ganhou um estúdio para produzir suas músicas. Adrian passou a usar o codinome "MC A.D.E." (MC Adrian Does Everything) Você não pode falar em Miami Bass sem mencionar Luke Campbell e DJ Magic Mike. Esses caras aumentaram a velocidade e misturaram com rimas pornográficas, de conteúdo explícito como uma obsessão de erotismo, que ficou conhecido como "booty rap".
No final dos anos 80 ja tinha se espalhado por todo o sul dos EUA e então apareceram vários grupos de rap que seguiram o agito do miami bass no sentido de uma música rápida, divertida e erotizada, com temas apelativos que reverenciavam o balanço do corpo. Isso inclui Clay D., Miami Boyz, B.O.S.E., Afro Rican, Mc A.D.E., Tricky D, Nas-D, etc... Mas esse conteúdo erotizado provocou clamores de forças a favor da censura pelos EUA. Já artistas como Dynamix II, Maggotron/DXJ e Bass Mekanik fizeram uma mistura aguada do miami bass com electro e isso resultou numa música mais eletrônica. O Miami Bass chegou no Brasil (principalmente do Rio de Janeiro) por volta de 1984 e vingou em 1988 e influenciou 90% no aparecimento do funk carioca de hoje. DJs e radialistas induziam os ouvintes a batizarem as músicas com termos chamados de melôs. Na década de 90, o Miami Bass chegou a entrar no Top hit várias vezes como "Whoomp (There It Is)" do Tag Team, "Push It" Salt N' Pepa e 69 Boyz' com "Tootsee Roll" e já foi tema de filmes como "Space Jam" com a música "Space Jam - Everybody Get Up" do Quad City DJ's. Hoje você deve imaginar que o Miami Bass desapareceu e só é encontrado em sebos de vinil usado, mas ele continua sendo produzido até hoje. No final dos anos 90, ele foi refinado para um som mais "inteligente" com artistas como Phoenicia, Otto Von Schiriach e Richard Devine que incorporaram mais tecnologia de sintetizadores modernos. A música ficou tipo IDM (Intelligent Dance Music). Para quem não sabe, IDM é uma classificação para a música produzida com mais visão artística do que comercial. Por isso fica mais encorpada, mais detalhada e, muitas vezes, são mais difíceis de serem gostadas.
